The main content of this report is based on<br />

the work of EEA Topic Centre on Terrestrial<br />

Environment (ETC-TE), in close cooperation with<br />

the Joint Research Centre (Ispra) of the European<br />

Commission.<br />

The contributors in the project team from the<br />

European Topic Centre on Terrestrial Environment<br />

were: David Ludlow (lead author, University<br />

of the West of England, Bristol), Jaume Fons<br />

(task manager), Núria Blanes, Oscar Gómez and<br />

Heimo Savolainen, assisted by EEA project officer<br />

Agnieszka Romanowicz.<br />

From the JRC, were involved: Marjo Kasanko (task<br />

the report development. The consultation process<br />

Urban sprawl in Europe<br />

included a workshop on the final draft of the<br />

report (September 2006). The EEA and JRC wish<br />
