A concert between containers:
another way of interpreting in the periphery.
The collaboration of the Culture Department of the Town
Hall of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the maritime
company Boluda Corporación Marítima during the last
six editions of the Temudas Fest has led to the creation of
one of the most awaited and participative events in the
city: a concert among containers. With the approval of the
Port Authority and the collaboration of the Philharmonic
Orchestra of Gran Canaria, which depends on the Council
of Gran Canaria, this activity has been consolidated as a
show where the quality of the representation as well as the
design regarding the aesthetics of the port infrastructure is
taken into account.
The conditions of the commissioning were aimed at
creating an alternative and exceptionally qualitative space
to listen to live symphony music outdoors and that could
be rebuilt each summer during the Theatre, Music and
Dance Festivals organised each year by the Town Hall of
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
La Luz Port has always been an industrial environment
closely linked to the City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The possibility of a collaboration between the public
administration and a private company linked to the port
was placed upon the table. The port authority set the
conditions for the stage and the event with strict safety
