The panels on the façade are printed with letters that
include the typography of most of the different cultures
and epochs of the people who come together in such
a typical place of a city that stands out because of its
multiculturalism and its strategic location in a globalised
world.
2.- Secondly, the common areas are given special attention
to. Conceived as a unique path that starts with a wide
entrance that works as a sloping street giving way to a
series of concatenations with no possible continuity. This
element is used as the connection between the public
street outside and the vertical communication cores that
appear in its trajectory. The patios are created as the
dilation of the galleries and passageways and create the
walkway to reach the door of each flat.
3.- Finally, attention is turned toward the flats themselves.
There is a wide variety of types that increases the range of
possible dwellers. One, two or three-bedroom apartments,
whilst the two upper floors are occupied by two-storey
properties.
When entering the building, the idea of creating a bubble
in the midst of the urban landscape can be appreciated,
the same as happens with the numerous alleys that can
be found around the city and that are a feature of its
urban landscape. It could be a miniature version of those
microclimates and micro-landscapes that are unique to
the island of Gran Canaria.
