teamwork, while at the same time respecting the privacy of
the different police units.
The suspended volume, completely closed toward the
exterior, defines the urban and institutional scale of
the building, while it protects a bright and introverted
space inside that adapts to the secretive nature of police
investigation work.
The ground floor, next to the entrance hall, is where the
most public services of the centre are located, such as the
Document and Immigration Office and the Reporting
Office, with their corresponding waiting areas. These
spaces welcome citizens by opening a public space from
the street by means of a covered porch, while visually
connecting with gardened areas both within and outside
the building.
On the ground floor, the limits between inside and
outside disappear in a continuous, transparent and open
space, a prolongation of the urban space. Transparency
and openness are concepts that the Integral Security
Centre uses to connect with the society as a space open
to all.
