Ignacio is part of a generation of young

filmmakers who are transforming Chilean cinema.

Using fictional narratives, his films combine

political content with the representation of

LGBTQI+ communities, and present relevant

and potent stories that are changing attitudes

towards dissident identities.

He studied Film and Television at the University

of Chile. He directed Locas Perdidas, a shortfilm

which premiered at Cannes in 2015, winning

the Queer Palm for best LGBTQI+ Shortfilm.

He also won second prize at the Cinéfondation

Competition. His first full-length film, Enigma,

premiered at the San Sebastián Festival in 2018.

Transforming Chilean cinema

Transformando el cine chileno

Ignacio forma parte de la nueva generación de

jóvenes cineastas que está transformando el cine

chileno. Sus películas combinan, en la ficción,

el contenido político con la representación de

la comunidad LGBTQI+, presentando narrativas

relevantes y potentes que están transformado

la percepción social sobre las identidades de

género disidentes.

Ignacio egresó de la carrera de Cine y Televisión

de la Universidad de Chile. Es el director y

guionista del cortometraje Locas Perdidas,

estrenado en 2015 en el Festival de Cannes,

donde ganó el Queer Palm al mejor corto

LGBTQI+. El corto también ganó el segundo

premio de la competencia de la Cinefondation.

Su primer largometraje, Enigma, fue estrenado en

2018 en el Festival de San Sebastián.
