Pour faire suite à la première rencontre du
1er Juillet 2017 sur la nécessité d’élaborer
une charte d’approche sur les requins
baleine, L’office régional du tourisme de
Nosy Be et les membres du Madagascar
Whale Shark Project ont organisé une
session de formation à la charte d’approche.
Adopter le bon comportement sur l’eau : voilà le
but de cette formation. Elle est en effet une base de
comportement commun pour l’approche des requins
baleine afin d’assurer la sécurité et la satisfaction
des visiteurs, d’assurer la protection de cet animal
et de permettre une bonne entente sur l’eau entre les
opérateurs.

Du lundi 18 septembre au samedi 30 septembre, des
opérateurs, excursionnistes ont participé aux formations.
La charte d’approche a été initiée par les membres du
Madagascar Whale Shark Project (MADA Megafauna,
FIU : Florida Internationale University et la MMF : Marine
Megafauna Foundation) ; elle a ensuite été discutée avec
les opérateurs présents lors de la première rencontre puis
validée par des scientifiques.
Following the first meeting of 1 July 2017
on the need to draw up an approach
charter on whale sharks, the regional
tourist office of Nosy Be and members
of the Madagascar Whale Shark Project
organised a training session on the
approach charter.
Having appropriate behaviour in the water is the goal
of the formation of the approach charter on whale sharks.
This approach charter is a common basis of behaviour
recommended for the approach of whale sharks in order
to ensure the safety and the satisfaction of visitors, to
ensure the protection of this animal and to allow a good
understanding on water between the operators.
From Monday 18 September to Saturday 30 September,
operators and excursionists took part in the training courses.
The approach charter was initiated by members of the
Madagascar Whale Shark Project (MADA Megafauna, FIU:
Florida International University and MMF: Marine Megafauna
Foundation), and was discussed with the operators present at
the first meeting and validated by scientists.
