Dolgozat címe: Cartographic representation of landforms using digital data sources, a comparative<br />

study for an area West of Karlstad<br />

Dolgozat/kutatás ismertetése:<br />

Overview of potential problems in handling the data, particularly data quality issues related to cartographic<br />

accuracy and generalisation. The means of portraying landforms by interpolating surfaces<br />

from irregular point value databases and the concept of visualization is tested on 5 different landforms.<br />

A qualitative rating of suitability of the interpolation algorithms is given meanwhile a quantitative<br />

comparison of the interpolated databases is carried out by grid mathematics. An evaluation<br />

of the suitability of the Swedish National Elevation Databases, data extracted from aerial photos<br />

and databases obtained by field survey for describing medium sized landforms is included.<br />
