Comprehensive immunohistochemical (IH) evaluation of haematological disorders was performed
on routinely processed paraffin- or plastic embedded tissues. The use of the modern antigen
retrieval techniques resulted in good antigen localisation and high reproducibility. We used
paraffin embedded lymphoid tissues and epoxy resin-embedded bone marrow samples. The
immunomorphological diagnosis of a wide spectrum of hematological disorders have benefitted
from the new antigen retrieval methods, especially the bone marrow disorders, the LG BCLs, the
ALCL/HD and the EATL/CD. These advances contributed to the accuracy of the routine
haematopathological diagnosis, which is essential in the patient’s management.
