The ‘cammina.AZZANO’ walking route33Circuit 1 – Sports Centre, via Divisione Julia(1200 m)The first circuit of the route develops within theSports Centre (1), where a gravel path of 1250m unwinds among the trees and several sportsfields (football, softball, tennis and basketball).This part of the route is illuminated andequipped with benches, bins and areasdedicated to outdoor workouts.Circuit 2 – Town streets and squares (3500 m)The second circuit develops along town streetsand squares, and ends in Via Umberto Saba.It then passes through Dote Park (circuit 3) andstarts again in Via Umberto Saba, continuingalong other streets. The route comes to an endin the Sports Centre (circuit 1).One of the points of greatest architectural andvisual interest is Libertà Square (renovatedin 2001) with the façade of the Town Hall (2)overlooking the large pedestrian area with thegardens and fountain. After Dote Park, otherinteresting sites to be admired are the façadeof the Archpriest Church (3) with its importantmarble altars (second half of the 18 th century)dedicated to Saint Peter Apostle, and theMonumental Bell Tower (4), project of architectDomenico Rupolo, 100 years old in 2021, anicon and symbol of Azzano Decimo.Circuit 3 – Dote Park (5) (approximately 900 m)The third circuit starts from Via Umberto Saba,with a first paved section, while the remainingpart is on a stabilized natural gravel pathway2.5-3 m wide in average. The route is partiallyilluminated. The circuit develops among areaswith trees, two small artificial lakes (6) and theRivolo Stream (7). There are several shadedareas, rest areas with benches, tables and bins.The circuit is suitable for people withdisabilities or using a wheelchair. It is currentlyapproximately 900 m long and it may belengthened in the future with other circuitsin compliance with the park redevelopmentproject. The word ‘dote’ indicates the areabehind the parish church of Azzano.
