Transtorno afetivo bipolar resistente e revisão de seu tratamento com clozapina
Summary
The authors report a case of resistant bipolar disorder followed in
the last five years at the Psychiatric Service of the Hospital das
Clínicas - UFMG. Many treatments were indicated, such as lithium,
carbamazepine, oxacarbamazepine, valproate, verapamil, benzodiazepines,
traditional antipsychotics and polipharmacotherapy.The use
of clozapine, which was succesful, was chosen due to many data in
the literature showing it as an alteranative treatment for bipolar disorder.
