Il faut se féliciter que la convention <strong>de</strong> l’OIT sur la discrimination salariale<br />

soit l’une <strong>de</strong>s plus ratifiées (159 pays en 2002). Des pays sont en cours <strong>de</strong><br />

ratification comme le Kuwait et d’autres envisagent d’entamer ce processus<br />

comme le Bahrain, le Qatar ou le La<strong>os</strong>. La convention <strong>de</strong> 1994 sur le<br />

travail à t<strong>em</strong>ps partiel a, quant à elle, été ratifiée par seul<strong>em</strong>ent 9 pays.<br />

C’est elle qui insiste notamment pour que les avantages annexes soient<br />

accordés au maximum <strong>de</strong> travailleurs à t<strong>em</strong>ps partiel. La recommandation<br />

qui l’accompagne prop<strong>os</strong>e une révision régulière <strong>de</strong>s seuils <strong>de</strong> bénéfice.<br />

Compte tenu <strong>de</strong> l’importance croissante du travail à t<strong>em</strong>ps partiel chez les<br />

f<strong>em</strong>mes, cette convention n.º 175 <strong>de</strong>vrait accompagner étroit<strong>em</strong>ent celle<br />

sur la discrimination salariale, tout comme, bien entendu, la Convention<br />

156 sur les travailleurs ayant <strong>de</strong>s responsabilités familiales.<br />
