Funding Scheme for Teaching and Learning Related
Proposals in the 2016-19 Triennium
In the 2016-19 triennium, the UGC has earmarked a timelimited
funding of $140 million for competitive allocation under
the “Funding Scheme for Teaching and Learning Related
Proposals in the 2016-19 Triennium” (the Funding Scheme) to
incentivise UGC-funded universities in exploring and developing
further in the sector-wide strategic areas of teaching and
learning, language enhancement and internationalisation.
There are four themes under the Funding Scheme: (i)
Innovation; (ii) Enhancement of student learning experience;
(iii) Enhancement of internationalisation and engagement with
Mainland China; and (iv) Language enhancement. A total of 89
proposals have been received from universities by the deadline
of end December 2016. An Assessment Panel, comprising
UGC/QAC Members and external reviewers, has been formed
to assess the proposals. With 30% funding contribution from
universities, the scheme will be able to support projects with a
total cost of about $200 million.
UGC Teaching Award
The annual UGC Teaching Award was introduced in 2011 to
honour those who excel in teaching in the UGC sector. In view
of the increasing importance of team teaching and in order
to encourage early career faculty members to focus more on
teaching and achieve excellence in their early professional
careers, UGC has accepted team nominations and established
a new category for early career faculty members in the 2016
Award. A record high of 20 nominations were received from
UGC-funded universities for the 2016 Award. They were
assessed by a Selection Panel comprising UGC/QAC Members,
a former award recipient and an external international expert.

計 劃 (2016-19 三 年 期 )」( 資 助 計 劃 ) 下 預
留 1.4 億 元 的 有 時 限 撥 款 , 以 競 逐 形 式 分 配 予
各 資 助 大 學 , 以 鼓 勵 大 學 研 究 和 進 一 步 推 動 在
教 與 學 、 提 升 語 文 能 力 及 國 際 化 等 策 略 性 範 疇
的 發 展 。 資 助 計 劃 設 有 以 下 四 個 策 略 性 主 題 :
(i) 創 新 ;(ii) 提 升 學 生 學 習 體 驗 ;(iii)
加 強 國 際 化 和 與 內 地 聯 繫 ; 以 及 (iv) 提 升 語
文 能 力 。 在 2016 年 12 月 月 底 的 截 止 日 期 前 , 教
資 會 共 收 到 各 大 學 遞 交 的 89 份 計 劃 書 。 教 資 會
已 成 立 一 個 由 教 資 會 / 質 保 局 成 員 和 校 外 評 審
員 組 成 的 評 審 委 員 會 , 以 評 審 各 計 劃 書 。 該 計
劃 可 以 資 助 的 項 目 總 開 支 達 約 2 億 元 , 當 中 30%
撥 款 由 大 學 承 擔 。
教 資 會 傑 出 教 學 獎
教 資 會 在 2011 年 推 出 年 度 教 資 會 傑 出 教 學 獎 ,
以 表 揚 教 資 會 界 別 中 教 學 表 現 卓 越 的 教 師 。 由
於 團 隊 教 學 越 見 重 要 , 以 及 為 了 鼓 勵 新 晉 教 學
人 員 更 專 注 於 教 學 及 在 其 專 業 事 業 的 初 期 追 求
卓 越 成 就 , 教 資 會 在 2016 年 傑 出 教 學 獎 中 接 受
隊 伍 提 名 , 並 為 新 晉 教 學 人 員 設 立 新 組 別 。 在
2016 年 的 傑 出 教 學 獎 中 , 資 助 大 學 共 提 交 20 個
提 名 , 創 紀 錄 新 高 。 候 選 人 接 受 由 教 資 會 / 質
保 局 成 員 、 一 名 前 得 獎 者 及 一 名 外 聘 國 際 專 家
組 成 的 遴 選 委 員 會 評 審 。2016 年 的 三 名 得 獎 者
