UGC Members visit LU, HKBU and HKU and meet their students.

Legislators
The UGC welcomes the opportunity to work with, and explain
aspects of UGC’s work to, the Legislative Council. UGC also
attend meetings of the Council whenever appropriate to explain
our work.
The Audit Commission (Audit) completed a value for money
audit on the UGC, and released a report on Funding of
Universities by UGC in November 2016 providing observations
and recommendations on the conduct of activities by the UGC,
which are constructive and timely. Two hearing sessions were
also conducted in December 2016 and January 2017 respectively
by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the audit findings,
followed by issuance of a PAC report in February 2017. The UGC
generally accepts the views and recommendations made by the
Audit and the PAC; and the UGC Secretariat has been actively
following up with, in collaboration with relevant Government
bureaux/departments, the recommendations put forward by
the PAC and the Audit, with a view to better discharging the
respective roles of the UGC and the UGC Secretariat for the
good of Hong Kong's higher education.

教 資 會 重 視 與 立 法 會 合 作 的 機 會 , 樂 於 向 議 員
闡 述 其 工 作 。 此 外 , 教 資 會 會 視 乎 情 況 派 員 出
席 立 法 會 會 議 , 向 議 員 講 解 教 資 會 的 工 作 。
審 計 署 完 成 對 教 資 會 的 衡 工 量 值 式 審 計 後 , 在
2016 年 11 月 公 布 《 教 資 會 對 大 學 的 資 助 》 報
告 , 就 教 資 會 的 工 作 提 出 具 建 設 性 而 又 適 時 的
觀 察 和 建 議 。 政 府 帳 目 委 員 會 亦 先 後 在 2016 年
12 月 和 2017 年 1 月 就 審 查 結 果 舉 行 兩 次 公 開 聆
訊 , 其 後 在 2017 年 2 月 發 表 政 府 帳 目 委 員 會 報
告 書 。 教 資 會 大 致 接 納 審 計 署 和 政 府 帳 目 委 員
會 的 意 見 和 建 議 , 而 教 資 會 秘 書 處 亦 一 直 與 相
關 的 政 府 決 策 局 / 部 門 合 作 , 積 極 跟 進 政 府 帳
目 委 員 會 和 審 計 署 提 出 的 建 議 , 以 期 更 妥 善 履
行 教 資 會 和 教 資 會 秘 書 處 的 職 責 , 致 力 促 進 香
港 高 等 教 育 的 發 展 。
