1. Is the use of prisoners of war (POWs) for labor just? Why might some people argue that it is? Why might<br />

html) Examine the issue of whether a Japanese company of today should be held responsible for what the<br />

company did during wartime over seventy years ago? Boycotts have been used in the United States against<br />

Japanese companies to raise awareness about this issue. Is this a good idea?<br />

5. Why did POWs and forced laborers still struggle to survive despite overwhelming odds against them?<br />

6. How did Mr. Geng win the support of the local people?<br />

7. How can one retain his or her principles in the face of adversity (as Mr. Geng did)?<br />
