Section 5000 – Human Resources<br />

5350 Drug-Free Workplace 5350-3<br />

All individuals who operate a commercial motor vehicle are covered by this policy, whether they<br />

are full-time, regularly employed drivers, lease drivers or independent owner-operated contractors<br />

directly employed by or under lease to the District or who operate a commercial motor vehicle at<br />

the direction of, or with the consent of the District. Covered employees will be provided the<br />

requisite educational materials regarding the implementation and application of this policy, and<br />

all required training will be provided.<br />

An employee covered by the federal regulations may not refuse to take a required test.<br />

Any employee who tests positive for a controlled substance under this policy, or who<br />

tests at a .01 alcohol concentration level, or higher, is subject to immediate discharge.<br />

This policy shall be published annually in the District's faculty and staff handbooks.<br />

5357 Family and Medical Leave 5357<br />

The District’s policies, practices and procedures with respect to leaves of absence<br />

qualifying under the Family Medical and Leave Act shall be administered not in conflict with the<br />

act.<br />
