Section 8000 – Students<br />
8055 Changing Student Letter Grades 8055<br />
A student, age 18 years or older, parent(s)/guardian(s) or another person acting as a<br />
representative for the student, may request to have a letter grade changed only for grades on<br />
final exams or grades at the end of a marking period or semester.<br />
The Superintendent will promulgate rules for the procedures to be followed when a<br />
request for a change in a letter grade is made.<br />

8080 Re-admissions 8080<br />
Students, whose enrollment has been terminated, either voluntarily or otherwise, may be<br />
re-admitted by following the procedures established by the Board.<br />

8090 Release of a Student during the School Day 8090<br />
Building Principals shall not release a student during the school day, except in<br />
emergencies, and then only to a student's lawful custodian as defined by Michigan law. The<br />
identification of the student's lawful custodian shall be verified to the satisfaction of the Principal.<br />
The name, address and telephone number of the lawful custodian shall be entered on the<br />
permanent record of the student in accordance with Board policy.<br />
In the event a student’s lawful custodian as defined by Michigan law, wishes to give<br />
permission to have the student released to a person other than the lawful custodian, said<br />
permission must be filed, in writing, signed and dated by the lawful custodian, citing the specific<br />
person(s) by name and indicating the nature, reason for and duration of the permission given for<br />
the release. Such written permission(s) will be placed in the permanent record of the student until<br />
or unless revoked through written notice from the lawful custodian.<br />
