7360 Computer Network 7360-3<br />

Limiting Access<br />

The administration may make use of technology that attempts to block access by<br />

individual users to networked computers, data, or services that provide content, which, in the<br />

opinion of the administration, is not in keeping with the educational aims of the District.<br />

Complaints about content of networked information, or access to blocked sites shall be handled<br />

in accord with the District’s policy and procedures.<br />

The Superintendent will develop rules concerning library Internet access in compliance with<br />

state law.<br />

7365 Filtering Software (Cf. 4510) 7365<br />

The Superintendent shall be responsible for directing appropriate District technology staff<br />

to bring all computers used by children into full compliance with all federal requirements<br />

regarding Internet filtering software.<br />

Student Internet activities will by monitored by the District to ensure compliance with<br />

state and federal requirements. Each District computer with Internet access shall have a filtering<br />

device or software program that blocks access to visual depictions that are obscene, pornographic,<br />

inappropriate for students, or harmful to minors.<br />

7380 Instructional Program Prohibitions 7380<br />

A student shall not be required to take part in any instructional survey, analysis, or<br />

evaluation that discloses information that is protected under federal law, unless the District<br />

receives prior consent from a student over 18 years of age, or prior written consent from a parent<br />

or guardian of a student less than 18 years of age.<br />

The District shall give students notice of their rights under this policy.<br />
