1819 July 19 Birth of Maria Louisa to J.C. and Maria. (JCC II, p. 250)<br />

1819 July 19 Letter from <strong>John</strong> Fisher in Salisbury to J.C. in London, asking<br />

J.C. to visit him and expressing his wish to buy A Scene on<br />

the River Stour, later known as The White Horse. Fisher adds:<br />

"Would you copy me the Lord Radnors? instead?" (JCC VI, p.<br />

46; see also JCC II, p. 250)<br />

1819 July 22 Dr. Rhudde's will proved, bringing J.C. and Maria £120 a year.<br />

(JCC II, p. 247)<br />

1819 July 23 Farington records: "<strong>Constable</strong> called and informed me of his<br />

wife having been delivered of a daughter. He also desired my<br />

opinion whether he shd. accede to a proposal of the Trustees<br />

of Dr. Rudd for him to settle Dr. Rudd's legacy to Mrs.<br />

<strong>Constable</strong> viz. abt. £120 per annm. on Her & her children. I<br />

recommended him to wait for the recovery of his wife and<br />

then to consult her upon it. He sd. she had expressed a<br />

dislike to settling anything upon Children as it went to render<br />

them independent of their parents." (Farington XV, pp. 5391-<br />

92; see also JCC II, pp. 250-51)<br />

1819 July 29 Farington records: "<strong>Constable</strong> called, & informed me that<br />

under Mr. Bicknell's direction the Executors of Dr. Rudd had<br />

prepared a settlement of the money left by Dr. Rudd to Mrs.<br />

<strong>Constable</strong> on her and her Children but <strong>Constable</strong> refused to<br />

sanction it & required them to pay the amount to him for his<br />

and Mrs. <strong>Constable</strong>'s farther consideration." (Farington XV, p.<br />

5393; see also JCC II, p. 251, where the date is given as the<br />

28th.)<br />
