"The committee of our Institution feel themselves very highly<br />

flattered by your kindness in sparing so rich a selection from<br />

your valuable works to grace our gallery. . . . there will be a<br />

stoppage upon the Canal after the 11th of next month (May)<br />

so that we shall esteem their being set off previous to that<br />

date a favour. . . . I have thought so much of that sweet little<br />

picture—the gable end of the mill, with the slimy mill wheel—<br />
