drawings of views of the Lakes is gone to that Country<br />

acccompanied by Havil to store themselves with subjects for<br />

1807 Aug 30 Letter from Peter Firmin in London to J.C. in London: "I<br />

breakfasted yesterday with Lord and Lady Dysart, when the<br />

late excursion to Ham & Chiswick became the topic, his<br />

Lordship asked me who were of the party, on mentioning Mr.<br />

<strong>Constable</strong> an artist and Connifsieur, he asked if the Mr.<br />

<strong>Constable</strong> who had Copied the Picture at Hellmington, on my<br />

saying the same Gentleman Lord D. said I should like to see<br />

the Copy the Consequence was natural. . . . to his Lordships<br />

Notice adding I should feel myself much obliged by your<br />

being permitted to see his Collection of pictures &c and as I<br />

know Lord D—is now giving Copies of Sr Joshua's portraits to<br />

several Branches of his family suggested you would gladly<br />

participate in a portion of such an Employment. . . . both Lord<br />

and Lady Dysart said they would call and fee specimens of<br />

Yo performance, but the most pleasant part of my<br />

Communication is his Lordships desire that You call on him<br />
