Thomson expressed the best disposition in his favor, & said<br />

that though there were others who might appear to have a<br />

superior claim, yet shd. He come against M. Wyatt or such a<br />

one, He, Thomson, shd. certainly vote for Him.—Thomson<br />

also sd. that He thought <strong>Constable</strong> was studying with a good<br />

view to nature.—<strong>Constable</strong> asked Him whether He might<br />

report this conversation to me to which Thomson had no<br />
