has been sitting and we have got on pretty well—but she left<br />

me at two. . . . Mr. Ward called with a finished print of Mr.<br />

Walker, looking very nice. . . . [The Tresloves] are going out<br />

of town for a week—so this will stop my picture. Fisher's<br />

stay in town. . . is uncertain." J.C. includes a sketch of a lady<br />

from behind, showing the dress and hair of the ladies at a<br />

painted till two, & got the head on so well that I shall now<br />

finish the picture in [dress] &c, &c, before I do any more to<br />
