Accomplishments:
Completed all objectives of the February 7-10 visit which included:
o Meet the DegreeWorks Core Team members and the Sungard Higher
Education functional consultant
o Understand the DegreeWorks features including web functionality and the
PC Tools
o Identify the basic terminology of the DegreeWorks system
o Define the DegreeWorks implementation project management procedures
o Describe the DegreeWorks process flow
o Define the extract process and describe how this process relates to the
SIS configuration (high level for functional team)
o Understand and complete a preliminary set up of the configuration
settings in the UCX tables
o Describe how access to services is handled in DegreeWorks (high level
for functional team)
o Describe system management requirements including the set up of
nightly cron job requirements (high level for functional team)
o Identify best practices in a DegreeWorks implementation
o Identify the DegreeWorks implementation tools
o Demonstrated ability to navigate in Scribe and to scribe basic and semicomplex
requirements, and update existing requirement blocks.
o Demonstrated awareness of how to troubleshoot student data issues,
using Student Data View, Registrar’s Report and/or Diagnostics Report
and understand their application to course requirements on the Web.
o Demonstrated ability to use SureCode to edit, delete or add codes and
flags to UCX tables.
o Demonstrated ability to use What If and Student View Audits to look at
the display of scribed logic and wording.
o Demonstrated ability to run administrative scripts via Transit.
o Demonstrated ability to use SunGard Higher Education DegreeWorks
Documentation.
Completed all objectives of the March 27-29 visit which included:
o Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot student data issues and how they
apply to course requirements on the Web
