National Gender Resource Centre Focal point for convergence, coordination<br />
in <strong>Agriculture</strong> (NGRCA) and mainstreaming gender concerns in<br />
agriculture<br />
3,050 Extension functionaries at cutting edge<br />
level are being sensitised through 122 GSM<br />
training programmes <strong>of</strong> 3 days duration<br />
organised by SAMETIs in 13 states, namely, AP,<br />
Bihar, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, UP, Rajasthan,<br />
Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh,<br />
Kerala, Karnataka and West Bengal<br />
Establishment <strong>of</strong> Agri-Clinics and During <strong>2009</strong>-10, up to November <strong>2009</strong>, 69<br />
Agri-Business Centres (ACABC) women agriculture graduates have been<br />
trained, out <strong>of</strong> which 29 have set up their own<br />
ventures. Under the scheme, a credit link<br />
subsidy @ 25 per cent <strong>of</strong> the capital cost <strong>of</strong> the<br />
project funded through bank loan is eligible,<br />
whereas, the subsidy is 33 per cent for women<br />
farmers<br />
Mass Media Support to In order to cater to the needs <strong>of</strong> women<br />
<strong>Agriculture</strong> Extension farmers, special programmes are being<br />
produced and broadcast by DD and AIR in areas<br />
where women are pre-dominantly involved such<br />
as apiaries, seed treatment, mushroom<br />
cultivation, kitchen-gardening, post-harvest<br />
management <strong>of</strong> fruits and vegetables,<br />
cultivation <strong>of</strong> aromatic and medicinal plants, etc.<br />
3. <strong>Co</strong><strong>operation</strong> Intensification <strong>of</strong> <strong>Co</strong>operative National <strong>Co</strong>operative Union <strong>of</strong> India (NCUI)<br />
Education in the cooperatively is running four exclusive development<br />
underdeveloped states projects for women viz. Shimoga (Karnataka),<br />
Berhampur (Orissa), Bhopal (MP) and Imphal<br />
(Manipur) under the Special Scheme <strong>of</strong><br />
Intensification <strong>of</strong> <strong>Co</strong>operative Education in the<br />
<strong>Co</strong>operatively Under-developed States
