2.1.2.3 Quaternary Polymer Blend Systems<br />

A few works have been performed to predict and analyze the morphology of quaternary blend<br />

systems(Guo, Gvozdic, et al., 1997; Virgilio, Desjardins, et al., 2009). Guo et al.(Guo, Gvozdic,<br />

et al., 1997) calculated the value of for various cases of a quaternary blend comprised of<br />

PP, HDPE, PS, and PMMA. They showed, as predicted when PP is the matrix, that a structure of<br />

(PE+PS/PMMA) is observed where the PMMA phase is encapsulated by the PS phase and the<br />

PE particles are dispersed separately in the matrix (Figure 2-13a).<br />
