7. The current Lincoln Division space was filled as soon as it was occupied. The
current facility is not large enough to accommodate all aspects of the program
adequately or to accommodate any kind of planned growth.
E. Programmatic Deficiencies
1. Currently the Lincoln Division facility is not able to meet the demand for
enrollment. At present, only about 40% of qualified applicants are being
admitted.
2. Additional nursing faculty are needed to train more nurses and educate future
faculty. A new education major is planned for the masters program to enable
CON to prepare more faculty for the State’s nursing programs.
3. Additional PhD students cannot be accommodated due to space limitations.
4. Half of the Lincoln faculty is PhD prepared and actively engaged in research.
Research activity is expected to expand. At present, research activities are space
limited.
