TO: The Board of Regents Addendum VIII-A-3 Academic Affairs MEETING DATE: September 5, 2008 SUBJECT: Approval to Award Degrees and Certificates for the 2008-2009 academic year and 2009 summer sessions. RECOMMENDED ACTION: It is recommended that the Board of Regents approve the conferral of appropriate degrees and certificates on students of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, as approved and recommended by the faculty, at Commencement ceremonies to be held on December 20, 2008, May 9, 2009, and August 15, 2009. Doctoral and Masters degrees will be awarded at commencement ceremonies to be held on December 19, 2008, May 8, 2009 and August 14, 2009. PREVIOUS ACTION: September 6, 2007- The Board granted approval for the 2007- 2008 academic year and summer session award dates. EXPLANATION: This action authorizes granting degrees and certificates for the 2008-2009 academic year and 2009 summer sessions to those students who have completed the necessary requirements.
