Alignment of the University’s Strategic Goals with Board of Regents Agenda Items

1. The University of Nebraska will provide the opportunity for Nebraskans to enjoy a better life
through access to high quality, affordable undergraduate, graduate and professional
education.
Strategic Framework annual report on state funding and tuition
Strategic Framework annual report on need-based aid
Approve revisions to the Tuition Assistance Program (Regents’ Policy RP-5.7.7)
2. The University of Nebraska will build and sustain undergraduate, graduate and professional
programs of high quality with an emphasis on excellent teaching.
Strategic Framework annual report on gender and minority faculty equity and the annual
progress report to the Nebraska Legislature on increasing women and minority faculty
Establish the Center for Transplantation Medicine at UNMC
Approve the Professional Program in Plant Health and the Doctor of Plant Health degree at
UNL
Approve a Master of Science in Construction degree at UNL
Approve program statement and budget for new UNMC College of Nursing division in Lincoln
Report on programs with tuition variances
Report on schedule for periodic review of Multi-Departmental Academic Centers for Research,
Teaching and/or Service
3. The University of Nebraska will play a critical role in building a talented, competitive
workforce and knowledge-based economy in Nebraska in partnership with the state, private
sector and other educational institutions.

Approve program statement and budget for new UNMC College of Nursing division in Lincoln
Approve certification of funds related to relocation of the Nebraska State Fair and the transfer
of the State Fairgrounds to the University for development of Innovation Campus
4. The University of Nebraska will pursue excellence and regional, national and international
competitiveness in research and scholarly activity, as well as their application, focusing on
areas of strategic importance and opportunity.

5. The University of Nebraska will serve the entire state through strategic and effective
engagement and coordination with citizens, businesses, agriculture, other educational
institutions, and rural and urban communities and regions.

Nebraska engagement with the innovation economy
Approve certification of funds related to relocation of the Nebraska State Fair and the transfer
of the State Fairgrounds to the University for development of Innovation Campus
Approve the project budget for design of the University Life Complex Phase II at UNO
