SUBJECT: Architect selection for the Abel-Sandoz Dining Center Renovation
project at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the selection of Elness Swenson Graham Architects, Inc. to
provide design services for the Abel-Sandoz Dining Center Renovation
at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).
PREVIOUS ACTION: June 13, 2008 – The Board of Regents approved the Program Statement,
Budget, and financing for the Abel-Sandoz Dining Center Renovation at
UNL.
EXPLANATION: A selection committee consisting of the Assistant Vice President and
Director of Facilities Planning and Management, UNL Campus
Architect, a Lead Project Manager of UNL Facilities Management and
Planning, the Associate Director of Housing Business and Fiscal
Operations, the Director of Housing Dining Services, the Assistant
Director of Housing Construction Projects, the Associate Director of
Housing Facilities Operations, and a representative from UNL Facilities
Planning and Construction have selected Elness Swenson Graham
Architects, Inc. to provide design services for the renovation of the Abel-
Sandoz Dining Center. The firm was selected from nine firms
submitting proposals on the project. A contract will be negotiated within
the approved project budget.
PROJECT COST: $12,900,000
Proposed start of construction June 2009
Proposed completion of construction June 2010
