Benjamin Bearse, and resided at Hyanuis where she died<br />

Jan. 14, 1742, and is buried in the old.grave yard there.<br />

II. Thomas, born 1st June 1683, married Rachel Stone <strong>of</strong><br />

Sudbm-y, Jan. 1, 1710, and had eleven children born in<br />

<strong>Barnstable</strong>, namely : 1, Abigail 29th March 1711, married<br />

Nathaniel Sturgis Feb. 20, 1734-5 ; 2, Nathaniel, 15th Oct.<br />

1713, married Susannah Bacon Dec. 14, 1738. He died<br />

Feb. 14, 1763, aged 50. His cWldren were Thomas Dec.<br />

1, 1739 ; Oris Nov. 9, 1741, father <strong>of</strong> the present Lewis ;<br />

Samuel Nov. 30, 1744 ; Susannah Jan. 1, 1746-7 ; Nathaniel<br />

March 19, 1748-9, died Sept. 26, 1839 aged 90 ; Sarah<br />

March 31, 1751. 3, Elizabeth 14th Feb. 1715, married<br />

Jonathan Lewis, Jr., Oct. 13, 1737 ; 4, Samuel 20th March<br />

1717; 5, Matthew 15th April 1719, married Mary Garret<br />

January 24, 1750-1, and had Matthew, a merchant at Portland<br />

and a man <strong>of</strong> wealth and considerable distinction<br />

Daniel engaged in trade many years in <strong>Barnstable</strong>, and the<br />

father <strong>of</strong> the present Matthew Cobb, Esq., and others ; 6,<br />

David 28th Feb. 1721, married Thankful Hinckley Aug.<br />

12, 1745, and had four children, died May 23, 1757; 7,<br />

Henry 16th April 1724, married Bethiah Hinckley Jan. 31,<br />

1753-4; 8, Thomas 30th April 1726, died Aug. 1726; 9,<br />

Ebenezer, twin brother <strong>of</strong> Thomas, died January 5, 1856,<br />

married Mary Smith, had 5 daughters ; 10, Eunice, bap't<br />

23d Feb. 1728-9; and 11, Mary, bap'd Nov. 7, 1731.<br />

Thomas Cobb was taxed in 1737 for £1000, and was a man<br />

<strong>of</strong> wealth for the times.<br />

Elizabeth, born Nov. 1685, married 25th Nov. 1708 Ebenezer<br />

Bearse. She died 15th July 1711.<br />

IV. Henry, born 1687.<br />

V. Samuel, 10th Sept. 1691, married first Sarah Chase <strong>of</strong> Tisbury,<br />

Jan. 25, 1716, and in 1725 Hannah Cole.<br />

VI. Mehitable, 10th Sept. 1691, twin sister <strong>of</strong><br />

30th June 1715, Nathan Taylor.<br />

Samuel, married<br />

VII. Experience, 8th June 1692, married 18th Feb. 1713-4<br />

Jasher Taylor <strong>of</strong> Yarmouth.<br />

VIII. Jonathan, 25th Dec. 1694, married Oct. 20, 1715, Sarah<br />

Hopkins <strong>of</strong> Harwich. The records <strong>of</strong> his family are incomplete.<br />
