married Joanna Lewis Oct. 13, 1761 : 8, Martha, April 24,<br />

1734, married Daniel Fuller Nov. 1, 1753 ; 9, Bathsheba,<br />

April 14, 1736, married Nath'l Ryder March 7, 1754; 10,<br />

Timothy, AprQ 16,1738, married Mary Goodspeed 1766;<br />

and 11, Zaccheus,t Oct. 6, 1740. I notice that the mother<br />

Abigail was appointed guardian <strong>of</strong> her son Timothy March<br />

12, 1745, why it does not appear.<br />

(31.) Joseph Hinckley, son <strong>of</strong> the second Samuel, married<br />

21st Sept. 1699, by Col. Thacher, to Mary Gorham. He resided<br />

at West <strong>Barnstable</strong> on the estate which was his grandfather's.<br />

His house yet remains, and is now owned by Levi L. Goodspeed,<br />

Esq. He was a man <strong>of</strong> wealth, and it appears by his will that in<br />

addition to his farming business he was engaged in the tanning<br />

and currying business. He died in 1753, aged 81 years. In his<br />

will dated 11th Sept. 1751, proved Aug. 7, 1753, he names his<br />

son John, to whom he gave all his real estate in the East Precinct,<br />

&c., &c. ; to Isaac lands at West <strong>Barnstable</strong> and at Hebron,<br />

Conn., a pew in the West Meeting House, bedding he had<br />

at College, latin books, tanning and currying tools, &c., &c. He<br />

names his son Samuel, deceased. To his daughter Mercy Bourn<br />

he devises his negro girl "Sarah," bought <strong>of</strong> Hopkins, his biggest<br />

silver porringer, &c., &c. To his daughter Mary Davis he gave<br />

his negro girl "Anne," bought <strong>of</strong> his brother Isaac, &c. He also<br />

names the children <strong>of</strong> his daughter Thankful, deceased, his granddaughter<br />

Mary Bourne, grandson Joseph Davis, and granddaughter<br />

Mehitabel Dillingham. His negro servant "Peg" to reside<br />

with either child she may desire. His sous John and Isaac executors.<br />

He had ten children born in <strong>Barnstable</strong>, namely : 1, Mercy,<br />

19th Aug. 1700, married Mr. John Bourne March 16, 1722 ; 2,<br />
