62. IV". Benjamin, 9th Oct. 1730, married Bethia Jones <strong>of</strong> Saudwich<br />

Ap. 26, 1759. He was pilot <strong>of</strong> a vessel bound to Hali-<br />

fax, lost at sea, and all on board perished. He left no issue<br />

63. V. Elizabeth, 16th Nov. 1735, died Dec. 20, 1735.<br />

64. VI. James, 12th April, 1737, died young.<br />

(On the family record <strong>of</strong> Benjamin Hallett, grandson <strong>of</strong> Timo-<br />

thy, the name <strong>of</strong> James is not given. Joshua Hallett, now living,<br />

(1858) says he does not recollect <strong>of</strong> having heard his father say he<br />

had a brother James. On the family register, the birth <strong>of</strong> Joshua<br />

is recorded in the year 1737, which corresponds with the record <strong>of</strong><br />

his age at his death.)<br />

65. VII. Joshua, 10th Jan. 1738-9. His house, yet remaining,<br />

is the most westerly on the north side <strong>of</strong> the County road in<br />

Yarmouth. He married Dorcas Eldridge. He died Aug. 19,<br />

1821, aged 84, and his wife April 26, 1813, aged 72 years.<br />

His children were :<br />

Bethia, Feb. 5, 1763, died aged— yrs.<br />

Elizabeth, Oct. 31, 1764,<br />

Lydia, Feb. 21, 1767,<br />

Dorcas, April 20, 1770,<br />

Mary, June 23, 1772,<br />

Patience, April 26, 1775,<br />

Joshua, April 12, 1778,<br />

Omitting Patience, who died in infancy, the average <strong>of</strong> the<br />

family, parents and children, is 83 years and some months.<br />

Bethia married Elkanah Crowell and resided at West Yarmouth.<br />

Elizabeth or Betsey as she was called, lived unmarried and<br />

died in her father's house. Lydia married Obed Howes, Esq., <strong>of</strong><br />

Dennis. Dorcas was marked at birth with bunches <strong>of</strong> grapes on<br />

her face. She married at 62 her cousin Benjamin Hallett. Marv<br />

married, first, Josiah Baker. 2d, Robert Dixon ; and 3d, Capt.<br />

Eben Howes <strong>of</strong> Yarmouth. She resided for a time in the Western<br />

States ; but after her third marriage in Yarmouth, and died <strong>of</strong><br />

apoplexy in 1858. Joshua married twice. He was a carpenter,<br />

and resided in a house on the opposite side <strong>of</strong> the road from his<br />

father's. He died in 1863. •<br />

66. VIII. Isaac, born 24th Aug. 1742, was the youngest child<br />

<strong>of</strong> Timothy. He was a deacon <strong>of</strong> the Yarmouth church, and<br />

his family, as well as his brother Joshua's, are long lived. He<br />

married in 1761 Elizabeth Eldridge. He died Oct. 5, 1814,<br />

aged 72 years, and his widow March 1, 1831, aged 86 years.<br />

Children horn in Yarmouth.<br />

Benjamin, Nov. 3, 1762, died Feb. 28, 1838, aged 76 years.<br />

Thankful, Oct. 10, 1764, died Aug. 14, 1831, aged 68 years.<br />

Isaac, Dec. 6, 1766, died 1857 aged 90 years.<br />

Elizabeth, Feb. 23, 1769, now living, aged 95 years. [Died March<br />

26, 1866, aged 97.]<br />
