(14.) Jonathan Hamblen, son <strong>of</strong> James, Jr., born March 6,<br />

1670-1, married 6th March, 1705, by Mr. Russell, to Esther Hamblen,<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> John. He died 22d June, 1743, aged 74, according<br />

to the record, and his wife died Sept. 1, 1746, aged 69.<br />

Children horn in <strong>Barnstable</strong>.<br />

68. I. Solomon, 5th Dec. 1705 ; married Oct. 1735, Rebecca<br />

Taylor, <strong>of</strong> Yarmouth, and had Hannah July 31, 1737.<br />

69. II. Content, 12th Dec. 1707, married Aug. 18, 1731, Jacob<br />

Hamblen.<br />

70. III. Priscilla, 13th July, 1709, married Capt. Simeon Davis<br />

June 5, 1740, died April 1751, aged 41.<br />

74. VII. Sarah, baptized 13th July, 1718, married. There<br />

were two Sarah Hamblens <strong>of</strong> about the same age. One married<br />

David Smith April 8, 1736, and the other Ephraim Lewis<br />

Oct. 8, 1736.<br />

75. Vin. Josiah, Oct. 15, 1720, died March 1, 1789.<br />

(16.) Dea. Ebenezer Hambliruson <strong>of</strong> James, Jr., born 29th<br />

July, 1674, was a prominent man. Tie married 4th April, 1698,<br />

Sarah Lewis ; but it does not appear on the records <strong>of</strong> whom she<br />

was a daughter. George Lewis, Jr., had a daughter Sarah born in<br />

1659, but she could not have been the mother <strong>of</strong> his children.<br />

Ebenezer, son <strong>of</strong> John , married Thankful Hamblen, who survived<br />

him. Ebenezer, son <strong>of</strong> Bartholemew, married Thankful Childs<br />

1722.<br />

Dea. Hamblen removed to Sharon, Conn., where he died in<br />

1755, aged 81. His children born in <strong>Barnstable</strong> were<br />

76. I. Ebenezer, 18th March, 1698-9. An Ebenezer Hamblen,<br />

whose wife was Prudence, had John and Israel baptized Sept.<br />

3j 1721. He afterwards married perhaps Hopestill Davis i<br />

widow <strong>of</strong> Shubael, and a daughter <strong>of</strong> Joshua Lumbard born<br />

in 1686. Judging by the age, it may have been the father<br />

who married Hopestill. An Ebenezer, perhaps this man, had<br />

Hopestill born in Rochester April 28, 1726. "Mrs. Hopestill
