who had <strong>families</strong>. He had lands at Catacheset, Oyster Island,<br />

Cotuit, Cooper's Pond, and at the Common Field. . He owned the<br />

dwelling-house which was his father's.<br />

(14-7) Dolar, son <strong>of</strong> John Davis, removed early to South Sea.<br />

His farm was at Skoneonet. He married, 3d Aug. 1681, Hannah,<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> David Linnell. He was a house carpenter and joiner.<br />

He died in 1710, and names in his will, sons Shubael, Stephen,<br />

Daniel, Job, and Noah, and daughters Hannah, Thankful, Remember<br />

Mercy. He gave one half <strong>of</strong> his joiners tools to Stephen,<br />

and the othef half and all his carpenters tools, to Job. He had<br />

two swords, which indicates that he had seen service as a soldier.<br />

The best he gave to j'ob, and the other to Noah. His wife is not<br />

named; and was probably dead.<br />

(16-9) Jabez, son <strong>of</strong> John Davis, was a carpenter,, and<br />

resided in <strong>Barnstable</strong>. In his will dated 29th Sept. 1710, he<br />

named all his children excepting Reuben and Ebenezer, whoprobably<br />

died young. He orders his sons Isaac and Jacob to be<br />

put to some trades as soon as they are capable. Inventory<br />

£538,16,08.<br />

Jabez Davis married, 20th Aug. 1689, Experience, daughter<br />

<strong>of</strong> David Linnel, <strong>of</strong> <strong>Barnstable</strong>. He died 1710, and his widow<br />

married, JFeb. 13, 1711-12, Benjamin Hatch, <strong>of</strong> Falmouth.. She<br />

died a widow Dec 1736.<br />
