The Public may request the <strong>Council</strong> for access to its records. Dependent upon the request, prescribed fees<br />
and copying charges payable under the terms of the new GIPA Act and <strong>Council</strong>’s Fees and Charges, may be<br />
applied.<br />
Requests under the GIPA Act may be by way of a formal or information access to information requests.<br />
Requests of these types are required in writing and directed as below; and any formal request must also be<br />
accompanied by the prescribed application fee:<br />

Statement of Affairs<br />
<strong>Hawkesbury</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>Council</strong> functions in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 1993 and<br />
ancillary legislation. The organisation is based around the General Manager and three Divisions. The<br />
principal functions of each of these areas are:<br />
General Manager<br />
The General Manager’s office includes executive service support for the <strong>Council</strong>lors and oversees the overall<br />
management of the <strong>Council</strong> administration. It also has direct reports from the Corporate Communication<br />
Section (which deals with media, publications, internal and external communication, civic programs and<br />
events); the Human Resources Section (which caters for all recruitment and selection, training, industrial<br />
relations and performance management issues); the Risk Management Section (which deals with <strong>Council</strong>'s<br />
various insurances, OH&S matters, workers compensation and risk related matters), and deals with<br />
organisational strategic activities and relationships.<br />
<strong>City</strong> Planning<br />
The <strong>City</strong> Planning Division comprises of a multi disciplinary team incorporating strategic planning,<br />
development control, building control, customer services, regulatory services, community services, the<br />
strategic development of the Cultural Precinct and waste collection.<br />
The Division is responsible for the production of the key strategic documents for <strong>Council</strong>, including the<br />
Community Strategic Plan, State of Environment <strong>Report</strong>, Local Environmental Plans, Development Control<br />
Plans, Contribution Plans, Cultural Plan, Social Plan (including the Social Atlas, Community Survey and<br />
Community Plan), Management Plan, Infrastructure Strategy and <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong>. The Division is also<br />
responsible for the assessment of development applications, building compliance and certification and<br />
heritage conservation matters.<br />
<strong>City</strong> Planning is responsible for a number of <strong>Council</strong> Committees including the Floodplain Risk Management<br />
Advisory Committee, Heritage Advisory Committee, Community Planning Committee, Waste Management<br />
Advisory Committee, Cultural Precinct Advisory Committee.<br />
