7.6 Summary 189 We have quantified the value of the stored water and it turns out that this hedging value can be substantial. The hedging value however depends on the risk constraint and on the contract portfolio. To utilize the hedging potential in the hydro storage plants one needs to identify high margin contracts that from a risk perspective can be managed.
