5.0 Global KM Initiatives<br />

There are many global initiatives in the field of Knowledge Management. Ark Group is<br />

KM Magazine. American Productivity and Quality <strong>Centre</strong>(APQC) holds regular<br />

conferences in KM. A large number of organizations have joined APQC to benchmark<br />

their KM practices. ‘Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise’ (MAKE) awards , in the<br />

categories of MAKE Global, MAKE Asia, MAKE Europe, MAKE North America &<br />

Make Japan are given annually. IBM Institute <strong>for</strong> Knowledge-Based Organizations is a<br />

global consortium of member organizations engaged in understanding how organizations<br />

derive value from Knowledge. KMPro(Knowledge Management Professional Society)<br />

conducts certification programs CKM( Certified Knowledge Manager) and CKA(Certified<br />

Knowledge Agent). The Gurteen Knowledge Community is a global learning community<br />

of over 12,000 people in 138 countries across the world, who are committed to making a<br />

difference; people who wish to share and learn from each other and who strive to see the<br />

world differently, think differently and act differently. They also publish ‘Global<br />

Knowledge Review’. KMSI( Knowledge Management Society of India) , is a community<br />

of KM professionals in India to share learnings in the emerging field of KM. Other global<br />

<strong>for</strong>ums <strong>for</strong> knowledge Management are KM World, KM University GKEC(Global<br />

Knowledge Economics Council) etc.<br />
