7. Projct Progress
The project has commenced and the details of the work initiated includes:
7.1. Data Collection
Data provision of the bibliographic details of the holdings of the journal collection has
begun. Of the select six SAU libraries, data from the following universities have already
been gathered.
1. Andra Pradesh NG Ranga Agricultural University, Hyderabad
2. University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad
3. Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai
4. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore
Collection of data from the other two institutions - University of Agricultural Sciences,
Bangalore; and Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur is under progress.
7.2. Content Creation
The following databases have already been created for the data from the above said four
SAU libraries.
1. Database of Current/Back volumes of Andra Pradesh NG Ranga Agricultural
University, Hyderabad
2. Database of Current/Back volumes of University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad
3. Database of Current/Back volumes of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences
University, Chennai
4. Database of Current/Back volumes of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University,
Coimbatore
On completion of data collection from the other two, which are under progress, the
respective databases will be developed.
7.3. Web Design
Web Portal is being designed using MS-Access as the back end and Visual Basic as the
Front End. The following are the few already designed:
