Noting that the Japanese project had taken eight years (1989-<br />

1996) to produce results, while other ventures might take one to three<br />

years depending on the volume <strong>and</strong> density <strong>of</strong> research, a participant<br />

wondered what minimum experimental period <strong>and</strong> surface area might be<br />

needed to achieve conclusions <strong>and</strong> <strong>data</strong> that could be validated.<br />
