Objective:<br />

To assess effects of mesotherapic cocktails based<br />

on type of lesion (deep, size, site, vascularisation<br />

and sonographic features).<br />

Methods:<br />

Twenty-four sportive subjects with Achilles<br />

tendinopathy were involved in a randomised<br />

double blind placebo-controlled study. Each<br />

group was homogeneous for age, gender and<br />

sport level. Clinical evaluation before and after<br />

treatment included Speck-Kalaue scoring system,<br />

toe rise test, VAS, isokinetic test, functional jump<br />

tests, and ultrasonographic evaluation. The<br />

treatment protocol consisted of four mesoterapic<br />

sessions distributed in three weeks. The posttreatment<br />

evaluation was performed after four<br />

weeks. Saline physiologic solution was used as<br />

placebo. Any physical therapy or orthesis were<br />

utilised during the mesoterapic treatment. T-test,<br />

MANOVA and regression analysis were used for<br />
