On review of the decision of a trial panel of the Disciplinary <strong>Board</strong>.<br />

Argued and submitted November 1, 2005. Decided December 15, 2005.<br />

Graeme H. Strickland, Jr., Lake Oswego, argued the cause and filed the briefs<br />

for himself.<br />

Mary A. Cooper, Assistant Disciplinary Counsel, Lake Oswego, argued the<br />

cause and filed the brief for the <strong>Oregon</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Bar</strong>.<br />

PER CURIAM<br />

The Accused is suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year,<br />

commencing 60 days from the date of filing of this decision.<br />

SUMMARY OF THE SUPREME COURT DECISION<br />

The Accused was convicted of three crimes: improper use of the emergency<br />

reporting system, ORS 165.570; initiating a false report, ORS 162.375; and disorderly<br />

conduct, ORS 166.025. As a result of those convictions, the <strong>Oregon</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Bar</strong><br />

charged the Accused with violating ORS 9.527(2) and <strong>Oregon</strong> Code of Professional<br />

Responsibility Disciplinary Rules (DR) 1-102(A)(2) and DR 1-102(A)(3). A trial<br />

panel of the Disciplinary <strong>Board</strong> concluded that the Accused was guilty of all<br />

disciplinary charges, and it imposed a three-year suspension from the practice of law.<br />

The Accused appealed. Held: The Accused violated DR 1-102(A)(2) and (3). The<br />

Accused is suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year, effective 60<br />

days from the date of filing of this decision.<br />
