2. The party aga<strong>in</strong>st whom the allegations are made shall be given an opportunity to respond to<br />

those allegations by submitt<strong>in</strong>g to the <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive a written response to those<br />

allegations with<strong>in</strong> three clear days of the date of notification of the allegations upon that<br />

party.<br />

3. The <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive shall attempt to obta<strong>in</strong> written statements from all students,<br />

coaches, teachers, school staff and adm<strong>in</strong>istrative personnel who may have <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation<br />

relevant to the allegations of undue <strong>in</strong>fluence and/or recruitment.<br />

4. Upon request made by the <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive, all students, coaches, teachers,<br />

school staff and adm<strong>in</strong>istrative personnel of member schools shall cooperate and assist <strong>in</strong> the<br />

<strong>in</strong>vestigation conducted by the zone executive.<br />

5. The <strong>in</strong>vestigation shall be commenced by the zone executive and shall be completed with<strong>in</strong><br />

five clear days from the date written notice of the allegations as specified <strong>in</strong> paragraph D has<br />

been received by the ASAA zone executive.<br />

6. With<strong>in</strong> three clear days of complet<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>vestigation, the <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive shall<br />

submit a written report to the ASAA Executive summariz<strong>in</strong>g the allegations made, the action<br />

taken by the zone executive to <strong>in</strong>vestigate those allegations, and the result of the<br />

<strong>in</strong>vestigation, which shall be sent by the Executive Director to the secretary of the zone <strong>in</strong><br />

which the matter orig<strong>in</strong>ated, by fax, email or ord<strong>in</strong>ary mail, as deemed appropriate by the<br />

Executive Director.<br />

7. The <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive report submitted to the ASAA Executive shall <strong>in</strong>clude<br />

copies of all written statements taken dur<strong>in</strong>g the course of the <strong>in</strong>vestigation by the zone<br />

executive.<br />

8. The report submitted to the ASAA Executive shall conta<strong>in</strong> a concise summary of any verbal<br />

statements given to the zone executive by persons <strong>in</strong>terviewed dur<strong>in</strong>g the course of the<br />

<strong>in</strong>vestigation by the zone executive.<br />

9. The written report submitted to the ASAA Executive shall identify any persons who failed or<br />

refused to cooperate <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>vestigation conducted by the zone executive.<br />

10. The written report submitted to the ASAA Executive shall conta<strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone<br />

executive’s op<strong>in</strong>ion as to whether athletic recruitment and/or undue <strong>in</strong>fluence has occurred.<br />

11. In the event that the <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive determ<strong>in</strong>es that athletic recruitment and/or<br />

undue <strong>in</strong>fluence has occurred, the report to the ASAA Executive shall conta<strong>in</strong> a<br />

recommendation of the action to be taken by the ASAA Executive.<br />

12.With<strong>in</strong> three clear days of receipt by the ASAA Executive of the written report of the<br />

<strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive, the ASAA Executive shall determ<strong>in</strong>e the course of action to be<br />

taken <strong>in</strong> response to the allegations of athletic recruitment and undue <strong>in</strong>fluence and shall<br />

notify <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g the ASAA Executive Director (Edmonton) of that course of action. With<strong>in</strong><br />

two clear days of receipt of that notice, the ASAA Executive Director shall notify, <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

the <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive of the course of action directed by the ASAA Executive.<br />

With<strong>in</strong> two clear days of receipt of that notice <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g, the <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone executive<br />

shall implement the course of action directed by the ASAA Executive and shall, with<strong>in</strong> that<br />

period of time, provide the Executive Director (Edmonton) with a written report detail<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

action taken to implement the course of action directed by the ASAA Executive.<br />

E. Any student, coach, teacher, school staff or adm<strong>in</strong>istrative personnel of a member school who fails<br />

or refuses to cooperate with and assist <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>vestigation conducted by the <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g zone<br />

executive may be:<br />

1. Excluded from prov<strong>in</strong>cial competition by the ASAA Executive <strong>for</strong> any period of time that the<br />

ASAA Executive <strong>in</strong> its absolute discretion deems appropriate; or<br />
