Appendix R - Sample School Board Policy Regard<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Interschool</strong><br />
<strong>Athletics</strong><br />
1. Students meet<strong>in</strong>g their school's criteria <strong>for</strong> selection shall be given opportunity to participate <strong>in</strong><br />
<strong>in</strong>terschool athletic activities, provided that facilities and appropriate staff are available to coach<br />
and/or supervise.<br />
2. Schools shall be provided with opportunities to participate <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>terschool athletic activities through<br />
district organized league play and must comply with district adm<strong>in</strong>istrative regulation regard<strong>in</strong>g field<br />
trips.<br />
3. Other school jurisdictions shall be permitted to participate <strong>in</strong> a district <strong>in</strong>terschool athletic activity<br />
when to do so would not reduce the educational benefits of the activity <strong>for</strong> district students.<br />
4. Participation <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>terleague, prov<strong>in</strong>cial, <strong>in</strong>terprov<strong>in</strong>cial and <strong>in</strong>ternational competitions shall be<br />
reviewed with reference to district adm<strong>in</strong>istrative regulation regard<strong>in</strong>g field trips.<br />
