Supervision<br />
• On-site supervision is recommended follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>itial skill <strong>in</strong>struction and after<br />
all safety concerns have been emphasized.<br />
Instructional Considerations<br />
• Off-ice <strong>in</strong>structions, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g safety rules, should precede on-ice <strong>in</strong>struction.<br />
• Student athletes should observe rules of etiquette.<br />
• Student athletes should be <strong>in</strong>structed to not step over curl<strong>in</strong>g rocks, but to walk<br />
around them.<br />
• Student athletes should be <strong>in</strong>structed to step onto ice with the non-slid<strong>in</strong>g shoe.<br />
Equipment/Facilities<br />
• Curl<strong>in</strong>g r<strong>in</strong>k should be used.<br />
• Suitable cloth<strong>in</strong>g and footwear should be worn, i.e., curl<strong>in</strong>g shoes, sliders or<br />
runn<strong>in</strong>g shoes with the slid<strong>in</strong>g shoe taped.<br />
