Activity <strong>Guidel<strong>in</strong>es</strong><br />
The follow<strong>in</strong>g section provides specific guidel<strong>in</strong>es related to various <strong>in</strong>terschool<br />
athletic activities. Teachers/coaches are not expected to deliver all of these<br />
activities, nor is it implied that this is an exhaustive list. Choos<strong>in</strong>g which<br />
<strong>in</strong>terschool athletic activities to provide should be based on teacher/coach tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g,<br />
student athletes’ developmental needs and school resources. Approval from the<br />
appropriate school authority official should be received if a teacher/coach wishes to<br />
<strong>in</strong>clude <strong>in</strong>terschool athletic activities differ<strong>in</strong>g from those listed with<strong>in</strong> this<br />
document. As part of that process, the teacher/coach should demonstrate that all<br />
appropriate precautions will be taken <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>terest of student athlete safety. As<br />
well, teachers/coaches should be aware of specific school authority safety<br />
guidel<strong>in</strong>es.<br />
