• acceptance only of bitumen
consignments that have been
loaded in accordance with
refinery safety requirements;
and
• submission of incident reports
for incorporation into a
national incident database for
establishing a national
industry benchmark.
Eventually members’ performance
will be assessed against national
norms and compliance with
legislation relevant to their
industrial operations. It is
envisaged that members
performing well against criteria
currently being developed should
be appropriately rewarded through
a prestigious annual industry
award scheme.
Such members will in themselves
become the industry beacons, for
others to emulate on the
ascendant road to achieving
profitability through safe and
responsible means.
