organisation. With the
improvement in our financial
situation, the Council is now in a
stronger position than ever to
deliver improved services to our
members.
Priority will be given to the
following issues in the year to
come, although the list is not
exhaustive:
• There will be further rationalisation
and streamlining of
our accounting and
administration functions;
• There will be a concerted
drive to enhance the delivery
of technology exchange
amongst our members, with
improved quality of seminars
and workshops, and more
connectivity with overseas
specialists;
• In the process of streamlining
of our administration, a
members’ newsletter will be
produced;
• SAT will have an opportunity
to heighten our profile at
both CAPSA 2007 and at the
Road Pavements Forum;
• Closer ties and cooperation
with other important industry
bodies, such as Sabita, AsAc,
ASPASA, SAFCEC, IMESA, is
seen as a priority;
• There will be continuous
improvement of our website,
and members will have the
opportunity to coerce their
employers to advertise or
sponsor pages;
• We will keep members
abreast of industry
occurrences overseas,
reporting back as they occur;
• We will maintain a positive
state of our financial health
to create and deliver value
to our members;
• The allocation of CPD points
is under investigation and will
be available to members;
• Regional chairpersons will be
encouraged to find new
members.
In closing I would like to thank all
Council members who have put in
“sweat equity” into ensuring the
continuation of the Society. I know
it is all voluntary and may this
positive spirit continue.
