A total of 95 000 tons of FT
wax-modified asphalt was laid
without a single failure, working at
night in adverse winter conditions
and with minimal disruption of
traffic.
Storage stability
It was noted by National Asphalt
that FT wax modifier is easily
blended and yields long storage
stability. Due to the lower mixing
temperatures required, energy
savings were also realised, and an
extended construction window was
achieved as a result of the
reduced temperature at which the
desired compaction could be
achieved.
