work, including wharfs, piers, and tunnels; interchanges, highways, and<br />
bridges, including bridges over water; and industrial plant expansions<br />

SCDOT Cooper River Bridge<br />
Charleston, SC<br />
$215 million. Skanska was awarded a designbuild<br />
contract to construct a 2.5-mile bridge<br />
over the Cooper River from I-26 in Charleston<br />
to Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. The<br />
project, completed one year ahead <strong>of</strong> schedule,<br />
was a fast tracked with a total duration <strong>of</strong> 48<br />
months for design and construction. Skanska<br />
was the managing partner <strong>of</strong> a joint venture.<br />
FDOT I-10 Escambia Bay Bridges<br />
Pensacola, FL<br />
$164 million, Skanska was awarded a designbuild<br />
contract to replace the I-10 bridges,<br />
which had been severely damaged by Hurricane<br />
Ivan. Skanska was the managing partner <strong>of</strong> a<br />
joint venture. The two replacement bridges are<br />
approximately 2.5 miles long and have three 12-<br />
foot travel lanes with 10-foot inside and outside<br />
shoulders. The bridges are founded on 140,000<br />
feet <strong>of</strong> 36-inch, voided, square, prestressed<br />
concrete piles.<br />
