and Partnership<br />

Internal Communications<br />

The <strong>Hospital</strong> uses a wide variety of <strong>to</strong>ols <strong>to</strong> help develop and maintain<br />

open channels of communication within the organisation. Heads of<br />

Service / Line Managers and Employees are encouraged <strong>to</strong> have<br />

constructive dialogue with each other. Employees will be informed<br />

about, and given opportunities <strong>to</strong> participate in, decisions affecting<br />

their work life in a way that is consistent with effective management.<br />

Information, in as far as is practicable, is communicated internally<br />

before it is disseminated externally. All written information is produced<br />

in a clear, concise manner, suitable for the audience and written in<br />

plain language.<br />

Information is communicated through a variety of avenues e.g.<br />

verbal or written (electronic or hard copy). These may include, but are<br />

not limited <strong>to</strong>, those listed below.<br />

Communications Pathway: Meetings & Briefings<br />

<strong>St</strong>aff Briefings: The <strong>Hospital</strong>’s Senior Management Team conducts<br />

hospital-wide information sessions and staff briefings. These inform all<br />

staff of developments in the <strong>Hospital</strong>.<br />

Intranet: The Intranet is a widely utilized <strong>to</strong>ol for provision of easily<br />

updatable and current information around the <strong>Hospital</strong>. <strong>Hospital</strong><br />

forms, policies and procedures are now accessible via the Intranet.<br />
